Interview with/avec COOING

COOING (쿠잉) debuted on November 17, 2020 with the single 넌머물고싶은꿈 (Light Pink) with the agency Starit Entertainment.
She has just released her first EP, Baby Flower.

COOING (쿠잉) a fait ses débuts le 17 novembre 2020 avec le single 넌머물고싶은꿈 (Light Pink) avec l'agence Starit Entertainment.
Elle vient de sortir son premier EP, Baby Flower.

KZ- How did you get into the musical world?

COOING - Since I was in primary school, I enjoyed listening to music and singing along. Then I joined a vocal band at 17 and got thrilled to give a live performance to people. That was the moment that I decided to become a singer. After then, I got a part time job to take vocal lessons.

KZ- Comment êtes-vous entré dans le monde de la musique ?

COOING - Depuis que je suis à l'école primaire, j'aime écouter de la musique et chanter avec elle. Puis, à 17 ans, j'ai rejoint un groupe vocal et j'ai eu le plaisir de donner une représentation en direct devant des gens. C'est à ce moment-là que j'ai décidé de devenir chanteuse. Après cela, j'ai trouvé un emploi à temps partiel pour prendre des cours de chant.

KZ- What are your talents other than singing?

COOING - I really like to draw animal characters by my own style. Whenever I feel bored I draw rabbits, cats, pandas and squirrels.

KZ- Quels sont vos talents autres que le chant ?

COOING - J'aime beaucoup dessiner des personnages d'animaux dans mon propre style. Quand je m'ennuie, je dessine des lapins, des chats, des pandas et des écureuils.

KZ- If you weren't a singer, what would you do for a living?

COOING - Before teenager, I was crazy about drawing. I bought a tablet and practiced drawing using photoshop and it became a big part of my daily life. So I would become an illustrator if I were not a singer.

KZ- Si vous n'étiez pas chanteuse, que feriez-vous dans la vie ?

COOING - Avant d'être adolescente, j'étais folle de dessin. J'ai acheté une tablette et je me suis exercée à dessiner avec Photoshop et c'est devenu une grande partie de ma vie quotidienne. Je deviendrais donc illustratrice si je n'étais pas chanteuse.

KZ- How did 넌머물고싶은꿈 (Light Pink) come about?

COOING - After I made a contract with STARIT Entertainment, I spent a lot of time making my own song. Then I could complete a full song, which was ‘넌머물고싶은꿈(Light Pink)’. It was released less than a year ago, but I started to write it three years ago. While working on it, I was at the beginner level, so producer Kim taught me a lot. He kept asking me to edit again and again, so how could I imagine it would be the title of my first single album? Looking back, I assume that it could be my debut song because the song resembles me a lot in terms of we both were in immature and unstable status.

KZ- Comment est née 넌머물고싶은꿈 (Light Pink) ? COOING - Après avoir signé un contrat avec STARIT Entertainment, j'ai passé beaucoup de temps à créer ma propre chanson. Puis j'ai pu terminer une chanson complète, qui était '넌머물고싶은꿈(Light Pink)'. Il est sorti il y a moins d'un an, mais j'ai commencé à l'écrire il y a trois ans. En travaillant dessus, j'étais au niveau débutant, donc le producteur Kim m'a beaucoup appris. Il me demandait sans cesse de faire des montages, alors comment pouvais-je imaginer que ce serait le titre de mon premier album solo ? Avec le recul, je pense qu'il pourrait s'agir de ma première chanson, car elle me ressemble beaucoup, car nous étions tous deux dans un état immature et instable.

KZ- Tell us about your 1st EP Baby Flower.

COOING - I believe anyone or any love has a period of ‘baby flower’ so I involved my own thoughts and worries of that moment in my 1st EP [Baby Flower]. This album is a part of “동화” series, and this Korean word has various meanings itself. This time, I would define itas “Baby Flower”. Next EP will also be a part of “동화” series and it would have another meaning instead of ‘baby flower’.Please enjoy my 1st EP and look forward to my next album as well!

KZ- Parlez-nous de votre premier EP Baby Flower.

COOING - Je crois que toute personne ou tout amour a une période de " baby flower ", donc j'ai impliqué mes propres pensées et inquiétudes de ce moment dans mon 1er EP [Baby Flower]. Cet album fait partie de la série "동화", et ce mot coréen a lui-même plusieurs significations. Cette fois, je le définirais comme "Baby Flower". Le prochain EP fera également partie de la série "동화" et il aura une autre signification au lieu de "Baby Flower".Veuillez apprécier mon 1er EP et attendez avec impatience mon prochain album !

KZ- What is your favorite song from the EP, and the most difficult to write?

COOING - My favorite song in this album is the 1st track ‘Baby Flower’ because it was written under the same topic as the EP [Baby Flower]. Moreover, this song comforts me a lot since it was the latest song I wrote. Luckily, every song in this album was not that hard for me to write, but there is one that took a lot of time to write, “꽃의고백”. It took me more than 6 months in arranging, which made the producer Kim stressed out. I really appreciate his hard work!

KZ- Quelle est votre chanson préférée de l'EP, et la plus difficile à écrire ?

COOING - Ma chanson préférée dans cet album est le premier titre "Baby Flower" parce qu'il a été écrit sur le même thème que l'EP [Baby Flower]. De plus, cette chanson me réconforte beaucoup car c'est la dernière que j'ai écrite. Heureusement, toutes les chansons de cet album n'ont pas été si difficiles à écrire pour moi, mais il y en a une qui m'a pris beaucoup de temps, "꽃의고백". L'arrangement m'a pris plus de 6 mois, ce qui a rendu le producteur Kim stressé. J'apprécie vraiment son travail acharné !

KZ- If you could collaborate with another artist, who would you like it to be?

COOING - There is an icon of collaboration in Korea, ‘IU’. I listened to and sang along her songs a lot to hone my vocal skills while dreaming of becoming a singer. She is one and only legendary singer for me. I love her so much.

KZ- Si vous pouviez collaborer avec un autre artiste, qui aimeriez-vous que ce soit ?

COOING - Il y a une icône de la collaboration en Corée, "IU". J'ai beaucoup écouté et chanté sur ses chansons pour affiner mes compétences vocales lorsque je rêvais de devenir chanteuse. Pour moi, elle est la seule et unique chanteuse de légende. Je l'aime tellement.

KZ- Do you currently have any new projects in mind?

COOING - Soon! I’m planning to release another single album in 2-3 months. I already finished demo version and now I’m in the progress of arranging. The main theme of this album is ‘summer’. Please look forward to it!

KZ- Avez-vous actuellement de nouveaux projets en tête ?

COOING - Bientôt ! J'ai l'intention de sortir un autre album dans 2-3 mois. J'ai déjà terminé la version démo et maintenant je suis en train de faire les arrangements. Le thème principal de cet album est "l'été". Attendez-le avec impatience !

KZ- Tell us about your hopes and dreams.

COOING - I want myself to become natural. The more sincere I am, the less natural I become. This disappoints me a lot. I want to enjoy my work and have fun. I also want to say to myself to not live in the past, but head up and expect the future.

KZ- Parlez-nous de vos espoirs et de vos rêves.

COOING - Je veux que je devienne naturel. Plus je suis sincère, moins je deviens naturel. Cela me déçoit beaucoup. Je veux profiter de mon travail et m'amuser. Je veux aussi me dire de ne pas vivre dans le passé, mais de relever la tête et d'attendre l'avenir.

KZ- Say something to the international fans.

COOING - Thank you whole heartedly from afar! I want to make a return for it with another good song and hope it takes you to cloud nine! So.. stay tuned!
